When you buy and download music, a movie, or a TV show from the iTunes Store and the download gets interrupted, you can restart it. After you buy a song, album, movie, or TV show from the iTunes Store, your download might stop unexpectedly because of one of these issues. Up until last week I was able to drag music from anywhere on my hard drive (or external hard drive) and drop it onto the iPod/iPhone icon in iTunes and that was all I had to do.I could then edit the info and artwork for that music myself.
I have bought many songs on my iPhone from the iTunes store, but when I tried to transfer them onto the computer into my iTunes, it won't work. It worked with some, but not all.

I went to another computer where I also had my iTunes account. I opened the store, and was going to attempt to buy just a single song - but first it gave me the option to fully download what I hadn't been able to on my other computer. (In other words, it knew I had purchased music with my account, but didn't successfully download it.). You can't transfer music from iPhone to iTunes. You can only transfer music iTunes to iPhone. This is to prevent music from being pirated easily.
If you purchased the music directly from iTunes, all you need to do is make certain that you have iTunes signed on to the same Apple ID and download your purchases directly. You won't be charged if you already purchased via your iPhone. In iTunes go to Store > Check for available downloads.
